Burial

Let's get started with the basics.

Right now this man is receiving a lot of hype and attention, not least because of the recent scramble to try and discover his identity. If you focus instead on the music, and not the man, then it's clear to see exactly why he's been receiving the levels of attention that he has. As one of the main artists on the famous dubstep label, hyperdub records, Burial is at the cutting edge of a direction that I personally would like dubstep to follow. It's difficult to describe exactly what this direction is, but it's certainly a million miles away from the wobbling bass lines that are usually associated with the genre. Instead he uses an electronic dance sound, keeping low tempo's and using extesive sampling. The original sound has received widespread attention, resulting in, amongst other things, a fantastic remix of Bloc Party's Where is Home?

Here are some of my picks from his released material, which I seriously recommend you check out.

Ghost Hardware
Bloc Party- Where is Home? (Remix)
Archangel
Forgive
Wounder

...If you like that then I seriously recommend that you check out his two albums that have been released this far, pictured below...

Get listening!
